SILVER ANNIVERSARY APPROACHES FOR STUART
28/09/2006

Spectus employee Stuart Remblance is celebrating nearly 25 years of working with
the company. Stuart started with Spectus soon after the company started in 1981,
the year Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer, when PacMan dominated
arcade games and the Space Shuttle made its maiden flight.
He was initially guaranteed one day's work - loading frames on to a van.

Now, nearly a quarter of a century
later, Stuart is one of Spectus' most
senior and experienced technicians
working in the tooling department.
He has seen PVC-U windows grow
from a small niche product to the
massive industry it is today.

Says Stuart: "Initially we had two
extrusion lines. Today there are
over 40. As you would expect the
technology has improved beyond
recognition and we now work around
the clock - in the old days we started
work at 8am and finished at 5pm."

During his career Stuart has been
a key part of some of Spectus'
biggest projects - including
overseeing the extension to the
Macclesfield factory and a six
month stint in America setting
up an operation there.

Today Stuart's focus is using his
vast experience to maintain the
high quality of Spectus' profiles.
He works closely with colleagues
passing on his knowledge and
expertise and helping with the
continuous improvement process
that is part of everyday life in what
is the largest factory extruding
PVC-U profiles for windows
and doors in the UK.
