JF Bodman and Sons (Glass) Ltd, window and door fabricators based in Doncaster,
have recently moved to Spectus' Elite 63 system. Not only that, they have been
creating a stir with windows made from a cream version of Elite 63.

David Bodman, Contracts Manager
says "The cream windows are very
important to us. Our previous
supplier pulled out of the windows
market leaving us in a very difficult
position. But we have worked very
hard with Spectus to get the new
profile ready and to put us in the
position where we can meet
our commitments.

"Our cream windows are primarily
used in the new build market,
where they are a differentiating
factor, but we also supply the trade
and retail market. David says, they
are used by large house builders,
such as Ben Bailey, to make
houses look that bit different and
special. There is quite a tradition
for cream windows in Yorkshire
because they compliment local
building materials such as
York stone.

In fact we anticipate demand from householders for cream windows to replace
their white PVC-U windows. That would make properties look more like they did
when originally built. Aside from the aesthetic benefits, the windows we make
and fit are better made than those we are replacing.
They are more secure and provide better thermal and sound insulation.

"For people that have recently moved into new houses with cream windows, we
can supply, or supply and fit, cream conservatories that are entirely in keeping
with the property. Also, the Spectus Elite 63 profile we use is a "shaped" system
and as such mirrors more closely original timber windows.

David concludes, "we are one of very few companies currently fabricating and
installing cream windows. Thanks to Spectus we now have an opportunity to
capitalise on that fact."
